This is a 4mm twisted-wire & copper half-spoon driving snaffle. 
One of the most versatile snaffles for training and show purposes. 
It is not very harsh, but can be strong if needed.

If the copper wires are damaged over time, they can be replaced at a cost.
This snaffle is high-grade stainless steel, with the copper wire added.
Stainless steel in combination with copper is true "sweet iron" and promotes saliva production. 
Saliva in a horse's mouth protects the mouth's mucus membrane from chafing and the formation of calluses. Also, it promotes the horse to be more sensitive to hand aids and not fight the bit.
