Bit Loose Ring Gag Bit with French Link

Designed for horses that are strong on the forehand or naturally forward-going, the Loose Ring Gag Bit with French Link combines the leverage of a gag with the refined communication of a French link mouthpiece. Based on an eggbutt snaffle, the jointed mouthpiece produces a nutcracker effect, but the French link design softens this action, allowing the bit to lie evenly across the tongue while still providing clear, effective signals.

When pressure is applied via the gag rein, the bit slides upward in the horse’s mouth, generating poll pressure and a distinct, distributed pressure throughout the oral cavity. This makes it particularly effective for horses that require extra control without compromising comfort.

The double-jointed French link mouthpiece enhances both comfort and communication. Unlike a single-jointed snaffle, it eliminates the sharp nutcracker effect, flexing naturally with the horse’s mouth and reducing tongue pressure. This encourages many horses to relax and accept the bit more willingly, making it an excellent choice for riders seeking responsive control without harshness.

Crafted for performance, the Loose Ring Gag Bit with French Link provides a versatile balance of leverage, comfort, and precision, suitable for various disciplines and experienced riders looking to refine their horse’s responsiveness.
