What does Tabless mean? A conventional cylindrical lithium-ion cell uses relatively small metal tabs to transfer electrical current into and out of the cell. Tabless construction provides many parallel electrical contact points, creating a substantially larger current path and reducing resistance inside the cell.
Why does lower resistance matter? Electrical resistance converts some battery energy into unwanted heat. Reducing this resistance means more energy can be delivered to the tool and less is lost as heat.
Better under continuous load: High-demand power tools can cause conventional battery cells to become hot during prolonged use. Because Tabless cells generate significantly less heat, they are better able to maintain their available capacity without premature thermal limitation.
