Product description
Festool FS-EP TS/TSC 55 Plunge-Cut Position Indicator Set
At a Glance: Precisely indicates the saw blade's entry and exit points at any selected cutting depth when plunge-cutting with compatible Festool saws and an FS/2 guide rail.
The Festool FS-EP TS/TSC 55 Plunge-Cut Position Indicator Set takes the uncertainty out of precision plunge-cutting. Designed for compatible Festool TS 55 and TSC 55 plunge-cut saws, the indicators show exactly where the saw blade will enter and exit the workpiece at the selected cutting depth. This makes it easier to produce clean, dimensionally accurate cut-outs without repeated test plunges or unsafe backward cutting. The front and rear indicators fit into the upper groove of a Festool FS/2 guide rail without tools and can also act as start and end stops for the saw. Adjustable marking indicators, magnetic left- or right-hand positioning and a cutting-width indicator provide outstanding versatility for cut-outs, close-to-wall work and accurately sizing narrow panel strips.
The indicator scales can be matched to the plunge-cut saw's selected depth, allowing the blade's actual entry and exit positions to be transferred directly to the workpiece markings. This delivers controlled, repeatable plunge cuts from the precise starting point to the precise finishing point.
Product highlights
- Precise entry and exit indication: Shows the exact blade position for the selected cutting depth.
- Accurate plunge-cutting: Makes it easier to produce clean, dimensionally accurate cut-outs with an FS/2 guide rail.
- Close-to-wall capability: The marking indicator can be magnetically positioned on either side of the symmetrical support plate.
- Start and end stops: The front and rear indicators also limit the saw's movement along the guide rail.
- Tool-free installation: Inserts into the upper groove of the guide rail and locks into position without additional tools.
- Cutting-width indication: Helps position narrow panel strips and work accurately when the guide rail is placed on the cut-off side.
- Fine calibration: Can be adjusted to suit the saw, guide rail and even resharpened saw blades.
Features
Features
- Front and rear position indicators: Define both ends of the required plunge cut and serve as physical guide limits.
- Depth-adjustable scales: The marking indicators can be set according to the saw's selected cutting depth.
- Magnetic marking indicators: Can be attached to the right or left side of the support plates for flexible positioning.
- Symmetrical support-plate design: Supports accurate alignment from either side of the guide rail.
- Integrated cutting-width indicator: Displays the blade's cutting position on the right-hand side of the guide rail.
- Plastic retaining nose: Helps prevent the plunge-cut saw from lifting away from the guide rail when plunging into the material.
- Fine adjustment: Allows accurate calibration of the scale for the complete saw and guide-rail system.
Benefits
- Eliminates guesswork: Clearly identifies where the blade enters and leaves the workpiece, even when the blade cannot be seen.
- Improves accuracy: Enables precisely positioned cut-outs with clean start and finish points.
- Reduces unnecessary cuts: Helps avoid repeated plunges, corrective cutting and unintended kerf losses.
- Supports repeatable work: The indicators can remain set for producing multiple plunge cuts of the same length.
- Improves close-to-wall access: Flexible left- or right-hand placement makes accurate work possible where viewing space is restricted.
- Saves setup time: Quick, tool-free guide-rail installation simplifies alignment and preparation.
Application
- Producing precise, dimensionally accurate plunge cuts.
- Marking the exact entry and exit positions of the saw blade.
- Cutting openings and recesses in boards and panel materials.
- Producing cut-outs in worktops, panels and fitted components.
- Making cut-outs in positions close to walls.
- Producing repeated plunge cuts of the same length.
- Cutting narrow panel strips accurately.
- Working with the guide rail positioned on the cut-off side.

Extra Info
Extra Information
- Compatible with Festool TS 55 R, TS 55 F, TSC 55, TSC 55 K and TSC 55 KS plunge-cut saws.
- Designed for precision plunge-cutting in combination with a Festool FS/2 guide rail.
- The set contains separate front and rear indicators for defining both ends of the plunge cut.
- The position indicators can serve as physical start and end stops for the saw on the guide rail.
- Fine adjustment compensates for differences between machines, guide rails and resharpened saw blades.
- The plunge-cut saw and FS/2 guide rail are not included.
Pro Tips
- Calibrate the indicators before the first precision application, particularly when using a resharpened or replacement saw blade.
- Set the indicator scale to the actual cutting depth selected on the plunge-cut saw before aligning it with the workpiece markings.
- For repeated cut-outs, leave the front and rear indicators locked in position to reproduce the same cutting length efficiently.
- Use the magnetic marking indicator on the side that provides the clearest alignment with the marking or the best access near a wall.
- Keep the guide-rail groove and indicator contact surfaces clean to ensure accurate positioning and reliable locking.
How to Use
- Mark the required starting and finishing points of the cut-out on the workpiece.
- Position and secure the Festool FS/2 guide rail correctly over the required cutting line.
- Insert the front and rear position indicators from above into the upper groove of the guide rail.
- Set the scale of each marking indicator to match the cutting depth selected on the plunge-cut saw.
- Align the front and rear indicators precisely with the corresponding start and end markings, then lock them in position.
- For close-to-wall work, magnetically position the marking indicator on the most suitable side of the support plate.
- Place the compatible Festool plunge-cut saw on the guide rail between the position indicators.
- Start the saw and plunge into the workpiece at the indicated entry position, then guide it forward until it reaches the end position.
- Allow the blade to stop completely before lifting the saw from the cut or making further adjustments.
Safety
Safety
- Wear suitable eye, ear and respiratory protection when operating the plunge-cut saw.
- Disconnect the corded saw from the power supply or remove the battery packs from the cordless saw before fitting or adjusting the indicators.
- Ensure that the guide rail, workpiece and position indicators are securely fixed before beginning the cut.
- Confirm that the indicators do not obstruct the saw's normal movement or safety mechanisms.
- Never attempt backward cutting to correct an incorrectly positioned plunge cut.
- Keep hands clear of the blade, plunge area and underside of the workpiece.
- Allow the blade to stop completely before lifting the saw or repositioning the indicators.
- Follow all safety and operating instructions supplied with the plunge-cut saw and guide rail.
