Product description

Festool VAC SYS VT 200 x 60 Compact Oval Vacuum Pad 200 x 60mm

At a Glance: Compact 200 x 60mm interchangeable vacuum pad for secure, surface-friendly clamping with Festool VAC SYS SE 1 and VAC SYS SE 2 units.

Clamp compact workpieces securely while keeping their edges completely accessible with the Festool VAC SYS VT 200 x 60 vacuum pad. Its small oval footprint is designed for workpieces that cannot accommodate one of the larger VAC SYS pads, making it an excellent choice for furniture components, cabinet parts, rails and other rectangular pieces with a suitable smooth contact surface. The pad attaches to the VAC SYS clamping unit through Festool's FastFix system, allowing it to be exchanged quickly and without additional tools. Soft, flexible pad material forms the vacuum seal while helping protect finished and sensitive surfaces from scratches or conventional clamp marks. Once secured to a compatible VAC SYS unit, the workpiece can benefit from the system's 360° rotation and 90° swivelling capability for convenient access to faces, edges and corners.

Compact vacuum clamping with every edge left free

Conventional clamps frequently obstruct the exact edge that needs to be routed, sanded, drilled or joined. The VAC SYS VT 200 x 60 grips a suitable workpiece through its face, leaving the perimeter accessible for uninterrupted machining. Its compact oval shape is particularly useful when a larger round or oblong vacuum pad would extend beyond the available sealing surface.

Product Highlights

  • Compact oval profile: The 200 x 60mm surface is suited to smaller rectangular workpieces and components with limited clamping area.
  • FastFix pad changing: Exchanges quickly with other VAC SYS pad sizes without requiring additional tools.
  • Unobstructed edge access: Clamps through the workpiece face so that edges remain free for machining and finishing.
  • Protects sensitive surfaces: Soft, flexible pad material helps prevent scratches, dents and conventional clamp marks.
  • Secure vacuum holding: Works with the VAC SYS pump and clamping unit to hold suitable sealed workpieces firmly.
  • Flexible workpiece positioning: Supports the VAC SYS unit's 360° rotation and up to 90° swivelling capability.
  • Matched Festool system accessory: Designed for direct use with VAC SYS SE 1 and VAC SYS SE 2 clamping units.

Extra Info

Extra Information

  • The VT 200 x 60 is the compact oval option within the range of interchangeable VAC SYS vacuum pads.
  • Select a pad that fits completely beneath the workpiece while providing the largest practical sealing area.
  • The complete pad surface and sealing lip must be covered by the workpiece to establish a reliable vacuum.
  • The VAC SYS system allows a correctly secured workpiece to be rotated through 360° and swivelled through 90°.
  • Festool specifies workpieces up to 30kg and 1 x 1m per VAC SYS clamping unit under suitable conditions; the actual safe capacity may be lower depending on pad size, surface, orientation and machining force.
  • For large, heavy, curved or difficult workpieces, a second compatible clamping unit may be required.
  • Vacuum performance depends on the condition of the pad, pump, hose, seals and workpiece surface.
  • Always use the lowest applicable capacity limit stated for the pad, clamping unit, surface and working orientation.
  • The vacuum pump, clamping unit, hose, foot valve and workpiece are not included.

Pro Tips

  • Choose the largest pad that fits completely beneath the workpiece, as a larger effective sealing area generally provides a more dependable hold.
  • Clean both the pad and workpiece with a lint-free cloth before clamping; even fine dust can reduce vacuum performance.
  • Position the pad near the workpiece's centre of balance to reduce leverage on the vacuum seal.
  • Make a test clamp before machining a new material, especially when working with coated, laminated or unfamiliar surfaces.
  • Check the vacuum gauge before applying cutting, routing or sanding force.
  • Keep router cutters, drill bits, saw blades and screws clear of the pad to avoid puncturing or cutting it.
  • Use the foot valve when available so that both hands can support the workpiece while the vacuum is released.
  • Remove resin, dust and adhesive residue promptly using a cleaning method that will not damage the flexible pad material.

How to Use

  • Switch off the vacuum pump and release all vacuum pressure before changing the pad.
  • Inspect the VT 200 x 60 pad, sealing lip and FastFix connection for cuts, deformation, dirt or other damage.
  • Release the FastFix locking mechanism and remove the existing vacuum pad from the clamping unit.
  • Fit the VT 200 x 60 onto the VAC SYS SE 1 or VAC SYS SE 2 connection and confirm that the FastFix lock engages fully.
  • Clean the vacuum pad and the intended contact area on the workpiece.
  • Position the workpiece so that it completely covers the pad and its sealing lip.
  • Start the VAC SYS pump and establish the vacuum according to the system operating instructions.
  • Check the vacuum gauge and test the workpiece gently before applying machining force.
  • Rotate or swivel the clamping unit to the required working position and lock the unit securely.
  • Complete the routing, sanding, drilling or joining operation without cutting or drilling into the vacuum pad.
  • Support the workpiece with both hands, activate the foot valve or release control and wait for the vacuum to dissipate.
  • Remove the workpiece carefully and clean the pad before storage or the next operation.

Safety

Safety

  • Inspect the pad, sealing lip and FastFix connection before every use and do not use damaged or deformed components.
  • Use the pad only with a correctly functioning Festool VAC SYS SE 1 or VAC SYS SE 2 clamping unit.
  • Confirm that the workpiece completely covers the pad and can maintain a stable vacuum seal.
  • Do not rely on vacuum clamping with porous, rough, dusty, wet, oily, cracked or uneven workpiece surfaces.
  • Monitor the VAC SYS vacuum gauge and stop work immediately if the vacuum level falls.
  • Test the workpiece hold before starting the power tool and again after changing its angle or orientation.
  • Support vertically positioned workpieces and never stand beneath a workpiece held by vacuum.
  • Do not use the VAC SYS or vacuum pad for lifting, transporting, suspending or supporting people.
  • Large, heavy, curved or unbalanced workpieces may require a second clamping unit or additional mechanical support.
  • Keep cutters, blades, drill bits, screws and other sharp objects away from the vacuum pad.
  • Wear appropriate eye, hearing and dust protection for the machining operation.
  • Support the workpiece securely before releasing the vacuum through the foot valve or control system.
  • Never exceed the applicable workpiece, orientation or clamping limits stated in the VAC SYS operating instructions.
